So, recently I’ve taken up on watching way too much TV. I think I’ve watched everything free in On-Demand. The gem of shows I found is this really interesting show John from Cincinnati. Its basically a show about a bunch of people who’s lives are totally hosed. And this guy John shows up and starts to make magic happen. He’s kind of an idiot savant, but he knows more about everyone than they know about themselves. Its got a religious twist to it, but its not so prominent that it overshadows the show. From what I can tell, the show is about salvation and people saving themselves with some help. I guess lately, that’s something I can identify with to some extent. Not in a religious way, but more in a ’save yourself before you give up’ way.
For some reason the title of this post sticks in my head. Butchie is one of the main characters, a washed up legendary surfer strung out on drugs. He meets John, and when he’s ask John questions John would say “Somethings I know, somethings I don’t know.” With that Butchie replied “John! That’s just weird. Why can’t you say something like ‘I don’t know Butchie’ instead.” And now when John doesn’t know the answer he says “I don’t know Butchie instead.” It just sticks in my head
In other news. I finally visited Legoland with my Godson Chuy (Or Jesus, funny I have a godson named Jesus, more funny that I don’t prescribe to religion). Sadly not sure if I’ll ever visit it again. I guess if I was a kid I’d go apeshit there. The rides there are awesome for kids, not to awesome for adults. Chuy had a blast. They have these cars there that the kids can drive all over the place. Little streets with stoplights and stopsigns. And no tracks, they can run in to each other if they aren’t careful, and have to obey the traffic laws. Pretty cool actually! (I know its wrong but its hilarious, Chuy got rear-ended by the cutest little asian girl). I was actually most impressed by the little cities they built out of Legos. Las Vegas was pretty cool! And I’d like to know how they got the cars to follow a track without any rails. They basically drove around the town without any visible assistance. Nice touch.
And, finally, I’ve stopped drinking soda. I’ve had 1 Dr Pepper in the last 8 days….
