Engineering Manager – Software: 02/2005 – 4/2008

Managed personnel and task management for multiple teams and product deliverables.  Responsible for the creation of engineering schedules including tasks, milestones, dependencies and resource allocation across multiple concurrent projects.  I worked closely with product management and engineering leads to fulfill strategic company objectives.  Managed programs through the entire lifecycle using both Agile and standard project management methodologies.

Senior Manager – IT & Engineering: 07/2004 – 02/2005

Lead the development of industry-leading products and services for our clients using Microsoft’s .NET platform including SQL Server and BizTalk 2004 through direct management of 10-15 programmers, database engineers, hardware and quality assurance specialists both on-site as well as remote consultants. Worked closely with Business Development organization to ensure that product requirements and client service levels were met. Developed and managed operating budgets for staffing and infrastructure. Engaged directly with customers to develop Statements of Work for custom development to fulfill specific business requirements.

Peregrine Systems, Inc.

Senior Manager – Global IT Applications: 01/2000 – 04/2004

Directly managed application development, integration, and deployment, during the company’s growth from $300M annual revenue up to $600 million including one acquisition a quarter for 16 consecutive quarters.  Managed multiple development, deployment, and training projects to rollout Siebel CRM world-wide to over 2200 users meeting both schedule and budget requirements with a staff of 14 full-time technical professionals augmented by 30 to 45 select consultants. Specific competencies included:

  • CRM – Extensive experience managing both development  & global deployments of Siebel CRM to support Sales, Sales Ops, Marketing, management, and executive customers.
  • ERP – Integrated PeopleSoft Finance and Siebel CRM in key areas such as Sales Order Processing and Distribution.
  • Web – Developed & deployed, corporate Intranets, along with a host of web enabled, internet-based, customer self-service applications.  Leveraged web-based technologies to enhance and serve marketing, customer support and sales, and broader based enterprise objectives.

Directly responsible for the project management and delivery of Siebel CRM projects for multiple customers within set timelines and budgets. Personally managed the offsite development team in conjunction with other project managers to best utilize the resources and talent efficiently. Specific achievements include:
Personally developed the project management and development methodology used across the organization for consistent and successful implementations
Managed the development team through two concurrent projects delivering both on time and on budget
Implemented the first Siebel Pharma Handheld application based on Windows CE

Dura Pharmaceuticals,

Project Manager – Information Technology: 11/1997 – 9/1999

Directly responsible for the delivery of a new Siebel CRM system to 450 people country wide to include field sales representatives, management, and executive staff. This included the development, training, deployment, and support of the enterprise application. This required the management of permanent and consulting staff during the project. Managed the development team through the implementation of a Data Warehouse designed to provide near real-time analysis of current product sales, past product sales trending, and forecasting. Within our Data Warehousing solution we combined the data from our Sales, Financial, and external data sources to provide a complete view to executive management for executive decision making.

Responsible for development and production support of custom tailored applications. These applications were multimedia as well as database driven websites focused on the customer experience and information.

Designed, developed, and implemented a custom Sales and Service application to support the Customer Support and Inside Sales organizations.

United States Army,

Intelligence Analyst: 1992 – 1996

Conducted and supervised the interception, transcription, translation, and reporting of foreign voice and electronic data transmissions in a mobile or fixed environment. Developed and operated computer based technologies in a classified environment.
